The Wilfred Free Ganna Jacket

The jacket you can use for all seasons and occasions.

Many of us like myself shop Aritzia for the pieces we love and keep coming back for, like the Wilfred Free Ganna Shirt Jacket. This Jacket has been around for a few seasons but with new variations coming out each season you're sure to find more to add to your wishlist.

My first Ganna Jacket was the Alpaca & Wool Blend (69% wool, 26% polyester, 5% alpaca), that was a new addition for the season in black and white checkers. I wore it nearly everyday once I bought it, I have a habit of doing that with pieces that I like a lot. I liked it so much I bought it twice just so that I might have a backup one. The second one I purchased was in the same fabric composition but in a beige, I found that it did fit me a little differently than my other one and wanted more of an oversized fit so I went in and exchanged it for a second of the Espace/ Black colour.

I did end up selling my second as I didn't feel I had much use for two of the same item in the same colour, but I do feel that if you like something a lot there is no harm in owning it in other colours!

I thought it might be nice to add the solid colour version to my wardrobe when I seemed to see everyone wearing it wherever I went.

The beige colour immediately caught my eye. Kieran likes to joke that beige is my favourite colour, I'm starting to wonder if he's right... I purchased this in Heather Bone, I wear it so much and it has more of a loose fit which is great to wear with a baggy hoodie under. That is my go to look year round.

Honestly the utility jacket style is such a great addition, it can fit so many aesthetics; tomboy, girly, athletic and so much more.

With all the different colours, materials and lengths I'm finding new pieces to add to my wishlist so often. This Jacket can also be found in a Vegan Leather option and so many more.

I recently added The Ganna Shirt Jacket Sherpa Shacket version after seeing it on my friend Robin's Instagram. (PS I'm aware that's a mouthful, I got a little tongue tied reading it out to Kieran...) Robin was so sweet she even put the jacket on hold for me to come in to the store when I was done work the next day, which makes my life easier as I'm pretty well always working. I can tell you I will be wearing this style all winter, with the exception of walking Callaghan because he likes to get muddy and I purchased the white colour.

Its soft and fuzzy on the outside with a fleece lined interior, great for layering with a flannel shirt or a fuzzy knit sweater. This version of the jacket comes in black as well as the white pictured to the left.

With living in Victoria, BC this is a great year round piece since you can layer it in the winter and fall with a scarf and knitwear or hoodie and in the summer and spring with leggings or jeans and a t-shirt.

I do love structured pieces like wool coats but sometimes I want something more comfortable and easy going which is why I love the Wilfred Free Ganna Shirt Jacket.

What do you think of the Shacket trend?

Shacket- A cross between a shirt and a jacket, inspired by military overshirts.

Thanks for the read!
